New Fervor EP 8/13/13

Anyone who attended our wedding in October of 2009, at the beautiful Squire's Castle, had not only been privy to an amazing landscape and wonderful stone structure likened to something from old England; our guest were also privileged to witness the astounding performance of one Mr. Low Kung, singer of the Atlanta/Denver-based band Fervor.

Low is nothing short of a natural talent. He has a superbly clear voice that bounces from gentle love songs to powerful alternative rock ballads. His songs are not about trivial matters resorting to the club life of a player. Low is a man not only with an amazing voice but with integrity in every word he writes. There is great passion in every element of the work he lays down for his art. And to see him perform is to witness the love he has for this natural talent which he works to procure a future for.

Like any artist, Low hones his craft. He makes it is his life, his passion, his work, his dream. Sometimes it defeats him, sometimes he conquers it. All artists walk a fine line of devotion that makes the world around us, the people in it, question why we do it. But I think it is quite clear that when you hear the first word sung by Low, upon your very first time listening to him, you understand why he walks that line; the line that every true artist walks. He has to do it.

And so today a new EP is released, Surface of the Sun. And it is the greatness I have come to expect from Low in the years that I have known him. These three new songs present a new sound experience that of course he has not featured before, with some digital effects in the music. However, the one thing that clearly has not been touched is that golden voice. It sounds like he is right there in the room singing in your ear. As I said, he has natural talent. Through our friendship I have been fortunate to receive some acoustic samples that perhaps most people would not get to hear that do not know Low personally. I have never known anyone who's voice never needed little to no effort. It's as though it glides on the air.
